Construction Time
Today Mrs. Kitson read the Paper bag Princess. We talked about all the different princess stories and how this one is different. Mrs. kitson read the story, Cinderelephant. We compared the two stories. We practiced printing lower case letters. We are taking our time and always starting from the top. We are working hard to finish our weaving. We are getting really good at reading our popcorn words in the message from The Gingerbread man. We love listening to Owls in the Family. We practiced subitizing. We played different games. We should continue working on seeing objects to 5 without counting We played inside in the afternoon. It was a wet and wonderful day in Kindergarten.

Wearing Orange
Today we wore orange and talked about the meaning of wearing orange. We remembered the orange shirt story. We talked about respect and love and that we should treat each other nicely. We are all different but the same too. We planted beans and squash in our Three Sister's Garden. We worked on our weaving outside. We watched a video about the indigenous story. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, The Great Ball Game of the Birds and the Animals. Ask me what the two little animals turned in to. We learned indigenous games. We played the games: Run and scream, Make the Stick Jump and Kick Ball Racing. We had a fun day in Kindergarten

The Three Little Pigs and the Butterfly
Today Mrs. Kitson read us different versions of The Three Little Pigs story. Some of the stories are very funny! We re-told the story of The Three Little Pigs. We cut out pictures of the story and put them in the correct sequence. Asking me to re-tell a story at bedtime is a good idea. We are practicing printing our lower case letters. We learned about Magic C today. Many letters start with magic C. We are working hard to finish our weaving. We are bringing home a little book with two new popcorn words. We should be keeping our little books together so we can read the books over and over again. We only have one more week of library book time. All our books are to be returned by June 11th. In the afternoon we let two butterflies fly away.
Special Day Alert: On Wednesday June 9th we will have a fairy Tale Day. Your child can come dressed as a ....(princess, prince, king, queen, dragon etc.) Don't worry if you do not have a costume we have costumes the children can borrow for the day.

Jack and the Beanstock
Today Mrs. Kitson read the fairytale, Jack and the Beanstalk. We practiced re-telling the story. It is a good idea to practice re-telling stories at home. After you read a book to me, ask me to re-tell the story. We practiced our cutting skills and our number skills. We cut out numbers and put them in the correct order. We planted our own bean seeds with Mrs. D and we are working hard on finishing our weaving. In the afternoon Mrs. Kitson read a chapter from, Owls in the Family. We were excited to catch up with our owl friends. We played inside for Wondertime.

Butterfly Excitement
Today we saw two butterflies. They came out of the chrysalis. Jasmyn came today and talked to us about a new Kimochi. It was Huggtopus. Ask me what we learned about Huggtopus. We started printing numbers today. We always remember to start our printing from the top. We had fun writing around the room today. We copied special words from the story, Jack and the Beanstock. We are working hard to finish our weaving project. We are excited to see our completed blanket. In gym we played with the basketballs. It was so much fun to try and make baskets. In the afternoon we started to plant our school garden. It was a fun day in Kindergarten.

Today we met Bug
Today Jasmyn came into our class and introduced us to Bug. Ask me what Bug taught us. We like talking about our feelings. We finished our space houses. We put them in the Gathering Space so we could have our own Art Gallery. They are pretty cool. We worked on our weaving. We can hardly wait to finish our blankets. We are bringing home a special present for a special someone. At the end of the day Mrs. Kitson gave us a special icecream treat. It was a yummy day in Kindergarten.
I will truly miss seeing the children everyday in class. I have sent home information regarding at home learning. You will receive an email with the google meet times on Friday. If you have any questions feel free to email me.
