Old Fashioned Story Time
Today The Gingerbread Man sent us a special story. It was a story on an old record. It was very funny. We laughed when The Gingerbread Man talked. He had a funny voice. We practiced our rhyming skills. We found matching rhyming words around the classroom. We also talked about patterns and made an ABB pattern with our math boxes. We made Christmas cards for a senior's residence. We videotaped our Christmas song in Music class. We had lots of fun playing outside. We had a fun day in Kindergarten.

Hanukkah
Today The Gingerbread Man sent us a very special present. He sent us books about Hanukkah and a special video. He also sent us all the ingredients to make potato latkes. We loved the potato latkes. We can help make them at home with you. We had fun playing The dreidel game with Mrs. K. We even ate special golden gelt. Ask me what gelt is. We made a special Christmas ornament with Mrs. D. It was a super delicious day in Kindergarten.

Making our Special Present
Today our Gingerbread Man friend sent us a letter. He told us about a special author named Jan Brett. He sent us her book, The Gingerbread Baby. Ask me about the book. We made our own Gingerbread men. We put them up outside our classroom. We put masks on them because they could not social distance. We talked about the letter V and practiced our ABC song. We practiced our rhyming skills and made new patterns with our math boxes. We videotaped our Christmas song in music class. We had fun running relay races. We ran, skipped and marched. We had fun playing outside. It was a fun day in Kindergarten.

Decorating The Gingerbread House
Today The Gingerbread Man sent us a gingerbread house to decorate. He also sent us decorations for our classroom and the book, The Gingerbread Bear. We played The Gingerbread Man dice game and practiced our letter sounds. We drew pictures in our lifebook and sounded out words. We played with our fine motor bags. We are practicing our Christmas song in music class. We had lots of fun playing outside in the sunshine. We love the mountain.

Chickadees
Today The Gingerbread sent us a book. It was, The Gingerbread Girl. It was a good story. Ask me how the story ended. We drew chickadees with Mrs. D. We took our time and looked closely at our sticks and our photos. We put a lot of detail in our pictures. We talked about rhyming. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, The Jungle Run. There were many rhyming words in the book. We made words with the at family. We talked about patterns. Mrs. Kitson talked about AB patterns. There are only two elements in an AB Pattern. Look on Brightspace, under my portfolio to see our patterns. (If you are able to use the app email me.) The app does not seem to working for parents. In gym class we ran and jumped through an obstacle course and played freeze dance. We talked about our interests and learned what sports are friends liked to play. We had lots of fun playing outside at the end of the day. It was a fun day in Kindergarten.

Being Kind to our Bird Friends
Today The Gingerbread Man sent us an email. He told us he had bird friends. He asked us to help him make a present for his friends. We made bird feeders and put them in the trees. We talked about being a community. We watched a storybook called, Our Class is our Family. We talked about how we can help our class community. We practiced our letter sounds and talked about the letter G. It makes two sounds. We talked about patterns and made patterns with our math boxes. We talked about rhyming and matched rhyming words. We had fun playing a running game in the gym. It was a fun day in Kindergarten.
