Kindergarten Celebration Day

Today we had lots of fun at Wondertime in the morning. We dressed up fancy. Some of us even dressed up in a wedding dress. In the afternoon we had our Kindergarten Celebration. It was lots of fun to perform in front of our families. It was fun to have a picnic with our families. After the performance we showed our families our classrooms. It was a great last day in our Kindergarten class.

The Giving Tree

Today Mrs. Kitson read us The Giving Tree, A Retelling of a Traditional Metis story, written and illustrated by Leah Dorian. It was a story about how the Metis people would leave food and supplies in the hollow of a tree. They would share their supplies with their community. In the morning we went for a walk in the woods. We found a hollow in a tree. Ask me what hollow means. In the hollow we found a bag with flour, salt, baking powder, butter and a book. The book was The Bannock Bread Boy. Mrs. Kitson read us the book and we found out that the ingredients made a special bread called bannock. We cooked the bannock. It was yummy. It was a suprise of a day in Kindergarten.

A Great Day For Frogs

Today was a great day to see the frogs. We went out in the long grass. It was so much fun to look for frogs. Today in the Maker Space we built our houses. We used special screws and screwdrivers. We even used plastic saws. It was called MakeDo. We worked hard with our friends to put together our houses. Mrs. Kitson showed us a video about the moose. We listened to an indigenous story about the moose also. We also listened to a story about A Girl and a Wolf. We drew these animals in our nature notebook. We had a fun day in kindergarten.

Fairy House Fun

Today Mrs. U read us the book, What do you do with an Idea? Ask me about the book. We worked on oworked on our ur floor plans for our dream house. We have lots of great ideas. We are almost finished our blankets. We can hardly wait to take them home. We wrote in our lifebooks and played Bump IT. In the afternoon Mrs.Kitson introduced us to Lovey Dovey and Turtle Dove. Ask me about Lovey Dovey. We had fun playing in the fairy house. It was a fun day in KIndergarten.

Ring the Stick

Today we played more Indigenous games. The Ring the Stick game was pretty hard. We didn't give up. We talked about how the indigenous people were very creative making their own games and using nature for the materials. We practiced our printing. We printed letters that all start in the corner. We always remember to start our letters at the top. In the morning we talked about what kind of special rooms we would have in our house if we could build our own house. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, if I built a House, by, Chris Van Dusen. Ask me about his crazy house. We are starting to design our own rooms on a big piece of paper we are using our skills to write words on our rooms. In the afternoon we played in our new fairy house. It was a fairy good time!
