Pink Shirt Day
Today was Pink Shirt Day. We learned why it is called Pink Shirt Day. We talked about how we can help our friends if someone is not being nice. We talked about how we should try to help our friend if they are making bad decisions. We watched a video called Boundaries. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, Harry the Dirty Dog. We talked about the beginning, the middle and the end of the story. We practiced making patterns. We made patterns with colour, size and shape. It was a cold day but it was a warm and kind day in kindergarten.

Cooperation
Today we had lots of fun playing at Wondertime. We worked together to build this castle. We like playing with all the castle toys. In the morning we played with a partner. We worked together to match dominos on our domino clock. We are using our subitzing skills. The GIngerbread Man sent us a message. He sent us the book, The Paper Bag Princess and a dragon costume. Mrs. Kitson forgot to read the book. We will have to wait until next week. We are bring home the book, At the Castle. We circled the snap words, the, that and is. You can help me read the book. Reading the little books often helps me learn to read. We had a dragon of a time in kindergarten.

Happy Valentine's Day
Today we had lots of fun doing Valentine's Day activities. We decorated a cookie, made a card, played a dice game, and made a colourful heart book. We danced and had a lovely cookie snack. We played cupid tag in gym. We had fun in Music singing and dancing. It was a sweet and lovey kind of day in KIndergarten.

Snowtastic
We had lots of fun playing outside today. It was a beautiful day. It was another Three Little Pigs day in Kindergarten. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, The three Little Super Pigs. It was a funny story. Ask me to re-tell it. We practiced listening for beginning and ending sounds. We are bringing home a sheet that we worked on. You can help practice with me. We had so much fun in music. Ask me about the bubbles. In gym we learned a new Irish dance. We had a sunny, super day in Kindergarten.

The Three Little Pigs
Today Mrs. Kitson read us the story of The Three little Pigs. She also read, Steven Kellog's version of The Three Little Pigs. It was very funny. Ask me about the waffle machine. We are practicing reading our books. We read by ourselves and with partners. We take our time and look at the pictures to give us information. We can use the first letter of the words sometimes to help us read the written word. We practiced our numbers. We had to colour in one more than the number on the dice. We are bringing home a new fairy tale book. We circled the snap words, I , am and like. We can read this book to you. It was a nice day to play outside. It was a piggy kind of day in kindergarten.

Groundhog Day
It wasGroundhog Day yesterday. We listened to the story about Groundhog day.We watched a video with an American groundhog and a Canadian groundhog. The Canadian groundhog predicted an early spring. The American groundhog said 6 more weeks of winter. We believe the Canadian Groundhog. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, Cinderella and the Big Bad Wolf. We noticed that there were many different fairy tale characters in the book. It was a very funny story. Ask me about the story. We drew a picture and wrote a sentence about our favourite fairy tale character. We had fun at wondertime. We love the castles. It was a groundhog kind of day in kindergarten.
