Science Magic
Today we joined the whole school in the gymnasium to learn about Science. It was so much fun. We saw lots of things blow up and the scientist even made fire. He even made a sonic boom. We made sure we covered our ears.

Merry Christmas
Today we went on The Polar Express. We ate nougat and drank hot chocolate. Mrs. Kitson read us the story. One of our friends received the first gift of Christmas. Ask me what is was. In the morning we saw the Christmas Carol play. The junior High kids acted it out. We made candy ice cream cone trees. Yum Yum! It was a merry, merry day in Kindergarten

Learning about Hanukkah
Today we learned about Hanukkah. Mrs. Kitson showed us the video book, Caleb's Hanukkah. She read the books, I Know an Old Lady Who swallowed a Dreidel, and Little Red Ruthie. We played a dreidel race game. Mrs. Kitson made potato latkes. They were yummy. We ate them with apple sauce. We made a Christmas present for our family. It is in a special gingerbread house bag that we made. In the afternoon we played in the Gingerbread House. There was a Santa costume and lots of Christmas clothes. It was a yummy day in Kindergarten.
There is no Kindergarten class on Friday, December 16th. The last day of school will be Monday December 19th for KM. It will be pyjama day. The children can bring a stuffy and or blanket if they wish.

Wondertime Fun
Today we practiced subitizing. We matched numbers of objects with the correct numeral. We went to the library and took out Christmas books. We decorated the library Christmas tree. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, The Christmas Blizzard. Ask me about the story. We practiced listening for the first sounds in words. We also practiced putiing our alphabet chart in order. We practiced singing the alphabet song. In the afternoon we had fun playing at wondertime. We finally got to play outside. We were so happy. It was a sunny day in Knidergarten.

Reading The Alphabet Chart
Today we became word scientists. We studied the alphabet chart and looked closely at the letters. We made scientific observations about the letters. We noticed that some upper case letters and lower cases do not look the same at all and some do. We noticed that some letters have lines and some have curves. We noticed lots of different things. We drew our favourite letter. Today we coloured a Nursery Rhyme book. You can read the rhymes with me. We love nursery rhymes. We played a fun numeracy game called Counting Crunchies. We used Froot Loops. The Gingerbread Man sent us an email and a gingerbread stuffie. He sent us a big gingerbread house. We had fun playing in the gingerbread house. It was a Gingy kind of day in Kindergarten.

Experimenting with Colour
Today we watched as our paint turned into different colours. We are making paper to use to make special trees. We talked about the letters K and X. We talked about the fact that we usually hear the x sound at the end of words. We are drawing and writing in our lifebooks. We are using the sounds we know to write our own words. We had fun doing Cosmic Yoga today. It was a cold cold day, but it was a warm day in Kindergarten.
