Looking for Gingy
Today we put up posters. We made posters to help us find Gingy. We hope someone in the school knows where he is. In the morning we practiced clapping the syllables in words. We broke the words down and listened to the sounds in each syllable. This helps us write the word. We learned there is a vowel in each syllable. We have a special vowel poster that we look at. Vowels are the hardest to remember. We practiced writing words in our lifebooks. You can help me clap syllabes in words at home. We danced to a pattern song. We talked about the word element. We are making patterns with two elements. We use the letters A and B to name our patterns. Ask me to make you an AB pattern at home. We played alphabet games with our friends today. In the gym we played fruit basket and we also learned a new dance. It is called Kinderpolka. We also know the shoemaker dance. We had a fun day in Kindergarten.

Mr. Hill Brought us Science Magic on Pyjama Day
Today we had a special pyjama day. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, The Cat's Pyjamas. We danced to pyjamrama. We listend to Robert Munsch's book, Pyjama Day. Mrs. Kitson also read us The Napping House. We learned many new words for the word sleeping. We are bringing home our own puppets so we can retell the story for you. It was a dozing, slumbering, snoozing and snoring kind of day in kindergarten

Patterns, Patterns Patterns
Today we talked about Patterns. We are learning the word element. We talked about making a pattern with just two elements. We can make shape and colour patterns. We are drawing daily in our lifebooks. Today we talked about clapping the syllables in our names. We learned that we need at least one vowel in each sylabble in a word. We are learning to clap the word and listen for the sounds in the first syllable. It is hard work. We drew special snowmen today. It was a busy and fun day in kindergarten.

Merry Merry Christmas
Today we went on The Polar Express. We ate nougat and drank hot chocolate. Mrs. Kitson read us the story. One of our friends received the first gift of Christmas. Ask me what is was. In the morning we went to the gym and sang Christmas carols with the whole school. It was so much fun! We made candy ice cream cone trees. Yum Yum! It was a merry, merry day in Kindergarten!

Learning about Hanukkah
Today we learned about Hanukkah. Mrs. Kitson showed us the video book, Caleb's Hanukkah. We played the dreidel game and ate chocolate gelt.. Mrs. Kitson made potato latkes. They were yummy. We ate them with apple sauce. We made a Christmas present for our family. It is in a special gingerbread house bag that we made. In the afternoon we watched the Christmas concert. It was very good. It was a fun day in Kindergarten.
Tuesday is our last day of school. It will be a pyjama day in Kindergarten.
There is no school on Friday December 16 for Kindergarten.

Reading The Alphabet Chart
Today we became word scientists. We studied the alphabet chart and looked closely at the letters. We made scientific observations about the letters. We noticed that some upper case letters and lower cases do not look the same at all and some do. We noticed that some letters have lines and some have curves. We noticed lots of different things. We drew our favourite letter. Today we coloured a Nursery Rhyme book. You can read the rhymes with me. We love nursery rhymes. We played a fun numeracy game called Counting Crunchies. We used Froot Loops. The Gingerbread Man sent us an email and a gingerbread stuffie. He sent us a big gingerbread house. We had fun playing in the gingerbread house. It was a Gingy kind of day in Kindergarten.
