The Science of Movement
Today we talked about why humans move. We talked about how sometimes we move just for fun. We made our own ribbons. We made up our own ribbon dance. Mrs. Kitson read us a story about indigenous dancing. We watched a video about how they tell a story through dance. We are bringing home a new book. We are practicing blending letter sounds to read words. I like re-reading my books at home. We are working in our lifebooks. We are clapping syllables and writing the sounds we hear. We like telling our stories in our lifebooks. It was a dancing kind of day in KIndergarten.

Moving Objects in a Variety of Ways
Today we talked about how we can move objects in a variety of ways. We made our own racetrack and moved our cars in different ways. It was pajama day today. We danced the pajama dance. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, Get out of Bed, by Robert Munsch. She also read us Interupting Chicken. Ask me about the books. The Gingerbread Man sent us an email and asked us to make him pajamas. He wanted the pajamas to have a pattern on them. We made him patterned pajamas. It was a cold but cudly day in Kindergarten.

We can Cooperate
Today we practiced blending our sounds to sound out words. We are taking home a sheet we practiced writing at and am words. We are also bringing home the book, My Cat. Help me point to the words and blend the sounds in the words. We also circled the snap word my. We like re-reading our little books. These books are our home reading books. In Science we are learning about the big concept of Energy. We talked about things that move and do not move. In the afternoon we watched a live virtual farm and food tour. We learned about big farm machinery. At the end of the day we played games. Mrs. Kitson said we played very well together. We showed our cooperation skills. It was a cold but playful day in Kindergarten.

Pink Shirt Day
Today was Pink Shirt Day. We learned how Pink Shirt Day started. We talked about how we can show kindness. In the morning we drew names and worked cooperatively putting together puzzles with one of our classmates that we usually don't play with. Mrs. Kitson talked about how it is good to get to know different children in our class so we can learn how we can have a strong school community. Mrs. Kitson read the book, What if Bunny's Not a Bully. Ask me about the book. In the afternoon the grade students came and read to us and we received our candy grams. It was a sweet and kind day in KIndergarten.

The Veterinarian Clinic
Today we set up a Vet clinic in the classroom. We had lots of fun helping our animal patients feel better. They had heart attacks and broken legs. In the morning Mrs. Kitson read us the book, The Princess and the Pea, and The Princess and the Packet full of Peas. Ask me what was the same and what was different about the books. We practiced patterning. We helped continue people patters with our friends. We had lots of fun in music. We played with the basketballs and scooters in the gym. It was a cold day so we played inside all day. It was a fun day in Kindergarten.

Fairy Tale Dress Up Day
Today was Fairy Tale Dress up Day in KIndergarten. We drew our portraits and made sparkly crowns for our portraits. We talked about what we would do if we were a king or a queen. In the afternoon we watched the video, Sing a Song of Sixpence. We learned that the cook in Medieval times also entertained the king. He hid things in the food. Mrs. Kitson made us a special cake. When she cut it open it was full of marshmallow birds and candy. At the end of the day we took turns having a sword fight. It was a fairy tale kind of day in Kindergarten.
