Creepy Carrots

Today Mrs. Kitson read us the book Creepy Carrots. It was a kind of scary, not so scary funny book. Ask me what happened in the book. We had a carrot as a special treat. They were from our kindergarten garden. They were juicy and crisp. We made our own creepy carrot characters. We practiced our letters: and talked about the new letter C. We learned it makes two sounds. Ask me what sounds C makes. We have a Halloween house in our classroom. It was fun to dress up in Halloween costumes. We are excited for Halloween.

Goodbye Garden

Today we practiced writing our numbers to 10. We played a math game called bump it. We have to match the number of objects with the numeral on a dice. Ask me why it is called Bump it. We graphed unifix cubes. We practiced our letters and we talked about our new letter L. We can now make words with the letters we have learned. At home I can practice these letters:: S< T<J<P<M<D>A and L. If we know the letters and sounds we can start to blend the sounds together and make words. In the afternoon we pulled onions and potatoes out of the garden. We also pulled out all of the tomato plants. It was a grateful garden day in KIndergarten.
