Learning about Breads From Around the World

Today Gingy sent us an email and told us about Ramadan. He sent us two books about the holiday. We talked about how people celebrate many different holidays. We made special flat bread today. We are learning about how bread is made all over the world. We worked hard planning our space houses. We have really great ideas. Ask me about what rooms are in my space house. We are reading many different popcorn words in Gingy's emails. We like reading our little books at home. We are getting to be good weavers. We had fun playing outside today and playing with the parachute in gym class. It was a fun day in Kindergarten.

A Plan for our Space House

Today The Gingerbread Man sent us an email. He talked about how he is learning to print. He sent us a song called, We Always start our letters at the top. We are starting a printing book. We started on Frog Jump Capitals today. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, If I Built a House, by Chris Van Dusen. We talked about what we would have in our space houses. We had so many great ideas. We drew plans of our Space Houses. We sounded out the words and labelled the rooms in our houses. We talked about the word, has. We circled it in our Spring book we are bringing home. We like reading our little books with our parents. We talked about our families. We talked about how families are all different! We went outside for a nature walks and looked for the buds on the trees. We will be watching for the buds to turn into leaves. We had a fun day in kindergarten!

Tomatosphere

Today The Gingerbread Man sent us an email. He sent us special tomato seeds. We are doing a Science experiment called Tomatosphere. We are planting some tomatoe seeds that went to space and some that stayed on Earth. We will find out which ones grow better. We watched a video about The International Space Station. We will be learning about what they do on the station. We played a fund subitzing game with dominoes and we wrote in our lifebooks. We are practicing clapping the syllables in words and listening for the sounds in the words. We are working hard on our weaving. We listened to "Owls in the Family" Ask me about the story. We had a fun day in Kindergarten.

The Most Magnificent Thing

Today, Mrs. Kitson read us the book, The Most Magnificent Thing, by Ashley Spires. It was about a girl who made a most special thing. We made our own special things in The Maker Space. We played a fun subitizing game with dominoes. We are bringing home an Easter Egg booklet. We can practice reading our little books. We are working hard on our weaving. When we went to the little playground we found Easter Eggs. We think The Gingerbread Man left them for us. We had a fun day in Kindergarten.

What is inside an Owl Pellet?

Today The Gingerbread Man sent us a storybook about owls and a special package. It was an owl pellet. We looked inside the owl pellet. We looked at all sorts of bones that were found in owl pellets. We used the magnifying glass and the microscope to look closely at the bones and find out what animals they came from. We drew the bones in our nature book. We played a math game called Zap. We had to say the number we saw. If we pulled out a zap we had to put our cards back in. We are bringing home a little book. The popcorn words we talked about is: see. We drew self portraits on our lifebook. We played outside with lots of toys. We had a fun day in Kindergarten. This is our last day before Spring Break. There is no school on Wednesday because there are interviews all day for Kindergarten.

Making Traps to Catch The Leprechaun

Today the Gingerbread Man sent us an email. He has a leprechaun friend who made him a green jelly bean smoothie. He sent us a book about a leprechaun loose in the school. The Leprechaun came to The Maker Space. He left us gold coins. We turned in two coins and received two candies. We made leprechaun traps. We tried to catch him. We wrote down popcorn words around the room. We worked on a math booklet. we circled groups of objects. If there are five objects we learned that everyone sees the objects differently. We can try this at home. We circle the popcorn word, look in our little St Patrick's Day book. We looked at pictures of places all over the world that turned green today. Ask me about the river in Chicago. We had a great time playing outside in the sand. We had a pot of gold day in Kindergarten.
