Pyjama Day
Today we had pancakes and enjoyed watching Bugs Bunny cartoons in our pajamas. The Gingerbread Man sent us an email. He asked us to design him a new pair of pajamas. He also sent us the book, The Cat's Pyjamas and a CD with the song, Pyjamarama. We decorated amazing pyjamas, filled with lots of patterns. We are learning popcorn words. The words in our book are: like, can and I. It was so cold outside so we stayed in and had indoor recess. In the gym we played 4 corners and danced Zumba. We played the drums in music. We had a comfy cozy day in Kindergarten.

Everyone is Someone
Today Mrs. Kitson read us the book, Sulwe, by Lupita Nyong'o. We also watched the video book, Everyone is Someone. Ask me about these books. Today we played a fun math game called Bump it. We are practicing seeing numbers without counting. (subitizing) We practiced making patterns and practiced our letter sounds. There are many activities on Mrs. Kitson's web page to help learn the letters of the alphabet. We played special drums in music. We played fun exercise games in gym. We ended the day playing on the mountain. It was so much fun! We had a fun day in Kindergarten!

Sewing Hearts
Today we sewed fancy hearts with Mrs. D. We used real needles. We are good sewers. The Gingerbread Man sent us a letter. He told us he was sad. He asked if it is alright to be sad. We talked about having different feelings. We talked about how we all can be sad and mad, frustrated and happy. We talked about what we could do if we were sad. Mrs. Kitson read us the book, I didn't Stand Up. We talked about helping our friends. We are bringing home a little book. We are learning popcorn words. The word we circled is our popcorn word (like). We will be making many little books. You can practice reading with me. It would be a good idea to make a special box where I can keep these home reading books. We practiced saying the numbers one less than. We practiced our letter sounds on the iPad using Montessori Crossword. We played outside. We were happy to go outside and play in the snow. We played ABC Bingo and Mrs. Kitson read us the book, Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns We Can All Get Along. We had a fun day in Kindergarten

Bannock
Today The Gingerbread sent us the book, Bannock Bread Boy. We made our own bannock. Mrs. Kitson also read the book, Kokum's Bannock. Ask me who Kokum is. We talked about what equal means. We made a book about 5 and talked about different ways to make 5. We made our own bannock book. We practiced our letter sounds and watched a funny video about the letter Z. In music, we played drums and sang songs. We really like the song, Canada in my pocket. was so cold outside! We stayed inside for recess. We had a fun day in Kindergarten

Hawaii Day
Today was Hawaii Day in kindergarten. We had so much fun making Hawaiian crafts. We watched a little movie and had a special cupcake with a teddy bear on the beach under an umbrella. Mrs. Kitson showed us a science experiment. Ask me about it. We danced the hula dance. The girls did a special dance for the boys and the boys did a special dance for the girls. Mr. Spady came and danced with us. It was an Aloha day in Kindergarten.

Rainbow Crow
Today Mrs Kitson read us the story, Rainbow Crow. It was an indigenous story that explained why the crow is black and makes the caw sound. Ask me about the story. We talked about the sacrifice that the crow made. We talked about the things we do for people, just like the crow. We played a dice game where we had to find the number that was just one more. We made our own crow puppets. You can sing the 5 Little Crows song with me. We played with our treasure boxes. We watched a video about the differences between crows and ravens. We drew a raven in our nature book, and talked about what we learned from the video. We made our own rainbow crows. We had a fun day in Kindergarten.
